Day 1, Naples
Arrive in Naples, located on the coast on the northern edge of the Bay of Naples, one of the most beautiful bays in Italy. You are required to reach Hotel on your own (OR you may request us to arrange the same at an extra cost). You will be at leisure for rest of the day so that you can relax after your long haul flight. In the evening, you will have an opportunity to meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers.
Day 2, Naples – Castel Del Monte – Bari
Enjoy a guided sightseeing that gives you a proper introduction to the eventful history of this city and its traditions. Later, depart Naples and travel into Apulia, the legendary “boot” of Italy. Stop at Castel Del Monte, built in the 13th century by Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II and renowned for its unique octagonal towers, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue your journey to the Adriatic coastline for an orientation of the beautiful port city of Bari.
Day 3, Bari – Castellana Grotte – Alberobello – Lecce
Proceed to Castellana Grotte, one of the most important attractions of Puglia to visit the area’s famous limestone caves. This impressive system is a wonderland of captivating stalactites, stalagmites, and crystallized mineral deposits. Next stop is Alberobello, famous for its unique trullo buildings. Follow the coastline to lovely Lecce, a baroque city that has a historic centre full of extravagant architecture.
Day 4, Lecce
Today you will be driven to Santa Maria di Leuca, the Greeks called it Leukos, meaning brilliant sun, while the Romans called it “the place at the end of the earth”. Discover oriental art nouveau villas and beach huts from the early 20th century. Continue to Gallipoli, a fishing village on the coast in southern Italy’s Puglia. Enjoy the Old Town with its quaint ambiance, winding streets, and inviting squares, and discover Frantoio Ipogeo, an underground olive press buried in the tufa rock.
Day 5, Lecce – Manduria – Grottaglie – Ostuni – Fasano
Drive to Manduria, situated in the wine-growing region, where you’ll visit a wine cellar and get to taste some of the typical Primitivo. Continue to Grottaglie that stands out for its dedication to its historic craft – ceramic to discover how its renowned terracotta has been produced since the Middle Ages. Overnight in Fasano that lies where the low hills and grotto-pocked plains of Puglia lead to the Adriatic Sea.
Day 6, Fasano
The day is free at leisure to explore the city on your own OR you may select an optional excursion.
Day 7, Fasano – Naples
Puglia is famous for its olive trees and this morning you’ll visit a traditional Olive Mill to taste some genuine olive oil and stroll around the groves. Later, you will be driven to Naples.
Day 8, Naples
Your exploration ends with the morning breakfast. You are required to reach Airport on your own (OR you may request us to arrange the same at an extra cost).
