Day 1, Rome
Arrive in Rome, Italy’s capital, where traveller’s from around the World come to admire the treasures and masterpieces of Roman art and architecture. You are required to reach Hotel on your own (OR you may request us to arrange the same at an extra cost). You will be at leisure for rest of the day so that you can relax after your long haul flight. In the evening, you will have an opportunity to meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers.
Day 2, Rome
The “Eternal City” is steeped in history, vibrantly alive and exciting, one of the worlds most romantic and inspiring cities. Enjoy a guided tour and learn about various sites such as St. Peter’s Square and Basilica, Colosseum, Roman Forum, Piazza Venezia and Campidoglio.
Day 3, Rome – Orvieto – Siena
We start the day by driving to Orvieto, a charming city perched on a rock cliff in the Umbria region to visit its black basalt and yellow limestone Cathedral, an excellent illustration of Italian Gothic architecture. Continue your journey to Siena, a city distinguished by its medieval brick buildings, with time to visit this jewel of Tuscany. Tonight, enjoy a special dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 4, Siena – San Gimignano – Greve – Montecatini
Drive to San Gimignano, a little walled medieval hill town and discover one of Tuscany’s greatest attractions. Its medieval squares, town walls, streets, alleyways, and 14 towers make it unique. Proceed to the Chianti vineyards; where production of Chianti Classico occurs. Visit Greve, one of the main destinations in Chianti for some wine tasting. Later you will be driven to Montecatini, a town famous for its thermal waters.
Day 5, Montecatini
Enjoy a guided excursion of Florence, a place to feast on world class art and Gourmet Tuscan cuisine. Witness Piazza Santa Croce; beautiful Piazza Signoria; Palazzo Vecchio and its courtyard; Loggia dei Lanzi; and, to top it all, Piazza del Duomo and its cathedral with the Giotto Campanile, and the magnificent East Door of the Baptistry, known as the “Gate of Paradise.”
Day 6, Montecatini – Pisa – Venice
This morning, drive to Pisa, a harmonious urban composition to see its Square of Miracles and the amazing Leaning Tower, standing at 60 meters as piazza’s crowning glory. Head across the wooded Apennine hills into the farmlands of the Po Valley to the Venice area.
Day 7, Venice
Venice is more like a stunning film set than a real-life city, with its criss-crossing canals, gondolas and water buses, arched bridges, palaces, and quiet piazzas. The included orientation starts with a boat ride to St. Mark’s Square and is followed by time at leisure on Venice Island that is renowned for glass-making.
Day 8, Venice – Assisi – Rome
Travel across the Po Delta, then into the green Apennines to Umbria. Stop in medieval Assisi, a postcard-perfect town and the birthplace of St. Francis, founder of Franciscan religious order. Visit the world-famous Basilica with its beautiful frescoes by Giotto, then proceed to Rome.
Day 9, Rome – International
Your exploration ends with the morning breakfast. You are required to reach Airport on your own (OR you may request us to arrange the same at an extra cost).
